Programs for checking the professional level
CMLS is an independent provider of interlaboratory testing and proficiency testing (PT). Professional proficiency testing is an important step in ensuring the high quality and accuracy of laboratory results. CMLS has a Management System certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001. The Integrated Management System is developed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043.
CMLS organises ILC programmes in a wide range of sectors, such as agricultural products, food, feed, fertilisers, etc. RCT programmes provide an effective mechanism for inter-laboratory testing and improve the accuracy of results.
External quality control in laboratories – is it necessary?
Laboratory testing is conducted for several reasons, usually related to ensuring that a product is manufactured to specifications and regulations and is safe to release to the market. Professional level testing helps ensure that test results can be trusted in terms of accuracy and reproducibility.
Monitoring the quality of analytical test results with effective quality control (QC) tools can help prevent the release of a substandard product. For laboratories, QC tools should include an external reference point over which the laboratory has no direct control. Tools such as proficiency testing (PT) and reference materials (RM) obtained from an external and independent source are key external QC controls. Inter-laboratory testing and regular proficiency testing are an important part of achieving accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
CMLS can help you meet regulatory requirements, work smarter, demonstrate the quality of your testing services and increase confidence in the accuracy of your testing regime in a cost-effective way. Through inter-laboratory testing and ILC programmes, you can be assured of the high quality and reliability of your laboratory’s results.
ILC programs and inter-laboratory testing
ILCs are an important tool for ensuring the continued accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing. Regular, professional-level audits help laboratories maintain the high quality of their services and meet international standards. Interlaboratory testing also helps to increase customer confidence in the results, which is a key factor for your laboratory’s success.
Monitoring the quality of analytical test results with effective quality control (QC) tools can help prevent the release of a quality product and stop the release of a nonconforming product. For laboratories, QC tools should include an external reference point over which the laboratory has no direct control. Annual programs
In order to evaluate your laboratory’s analysis results on a long-term basis, LLC “CMLC” offers regular interlaboratory comparison programs in the form of annual series.
Each series consists of different rounds. Depending on the program, there may be one sample for testing or more in a round. Laboratories participating in a proficiency testing program will receive all samples assigned to that program. They can choose to analyze all criteria or only those of interest.
Laboratories working with LLC "CMLC" play a crucial role!
To meet the needs of its participants, LLC “CMLC” offers regular meetings for each proficiency testing program.
All participating laboratories are invited to join these meetings, where laboratories and LLC “CMLC” staff have the opportunity to discuss possible improvements to the PT programs: sample types, frequency of shipment, calculation of assigned values, etc.
These committees also aim to foster a friendly atmosphere that allows for formal and informal discussions between members of our community. Thus, these meetings are an important forum for the exchange of technical and scientific information.
Members can easily suggest improvements for the PT program. After they have expressed their wishes, we study the feasibility of the project, set the final series, and establish a testing schedule.
The benefits of our background check programs
Inter-laboratory comparisons of test results meet the requirements of laboratory quality standards and are a strategic part of their quality system. Thus, a large number of laboratories participating in our programmes join us as part of their accreditation/certification by official bodies. CMLS proficiency testing programmes are more than just basic tests.
In fact, the main purpose of our proficiency testing programmes is to confirm the technical skills of the laboratory. Laboratories often do not have the opportunity or time to compare their results with others. Inter-laboratory comparisons of test results are considered fundamental: the laboratory needs to compare its test results with the real value of a particular material, to verify its accuracy.
Furthermore, systematic bias or skewing of test results can only be illuminated by long-term observation. A proficiency testing provider, such as CMLS, provides laboratories with the ability to conduct such long-term observations and identify possible systematic errors.
In the event of unsatisfactory results, laboratories can use their results from our proficiency testing programmes as a tool for improvement. This allows the laboratory to identify the causes of the deviation. Whether it is a one-off or systematic problem of method, drift or bias, it can be identified by participating in our proficiency testing programmes.
Thus, participation in inter-laboratory comparisons of test results organised by an external organisation such as CMLS clearly allows for the validation of the analytical results of the laboratory. The proficiency testing provider plays a key role in this process by providing laboratories with the necessary tools and support.
To summarise, inter-laboratory comparisons of CMLS test results can help laboratories identify sources of analytical errors, take corrective action and improve analytical results on a short, medium and long term basis. Our tests can also be used for training purposes to check the technical skills of employees.
Finally, proficiency testing programmes by CMLS are a key factor in laboratory quality systems and can assure stakeholders of quality laboratory services. A proficiency testing provider, such as CMLS, is a reliable partner in ensuring high quality analytical results.
